When the West Was Wild

It wasn’t the land that made cowboys—it was their untamed spirit.

In Southwest winds, where the mesas stand,
Rhyme wranglers gather, each one close at hand.
With laughter and verse in a spirited show,
They spin tales of life, both high and low.

Under bright stars, with fires aglow,
The crowd swells in joy, as the poets bestow.
Each word like a lasso, they wrangle tight,
Painting visions of cowboys, chasing the night.

With boots on the ground and hearts open wide,
Their verses bring life to the rich, dusty ride.
From sagebrush to laughter, the tales intertwine,
In moments of magic, where the spirits align.

So come one and all, to this joyous array,
Where rhymes dance like stars, and where cowhands play.
With chuckles and rhymes, let the wild tales soar,
In the heart of New Mexico, we’ll always want more.
