Lanterns in the Barn: The Quiet Work of Caring for Life

The Cowboy Way of Doing Things

Do what’s right, ride tall, and keep your boots clean—it’s the cowboy way.

In the barn where lanterns gently glow,
Warm shadows dance on the hay below.
With hands worn rough from the toil of the day,
Lifes quiet work begins, come what may.

The horses shift in the soft, sweet night,
Their breath a fog in the golden light.
Each bucket filled with the grain and care,
Holds stories whispered in the cool night air.

Outside, the stars sprinkle dreams on the land,
While crickets play music, bold and grand.
In stillness, the heart finds a rhythm so true,
That echoes the kindness a cowboy must do.

As dawn breaks softly, a new day will rise,
The lanterns dimmed beneath wide-open skies.
For in every flicker, in each flames embrace,
Lives the spirit of love in this sacred space.
