Living by the Cowboy Code
In the Old West, your word was your bond, and respect was earned the hard way.
In twilights glow, the fire danced bright,
A cowboys feast under stars’ soft light.
With marshmallows perched, sweet dreams on a stick,
The prairie whispered, dreams both close and thick.
But shadows crept where no rustler dared,
Mischievous critters, their tiny forms shared.
With twitching noses and playful little grins,
Prairie dogs plotted with devilish sins.
They scampered in haste, a furry brigade,
With nimble feet, or a daring masquerade.
In one swift stroke, they snatched all the sweets,
Leaving only ashes where delight once greets.
With laughter erupting, the cowboy declared,
“To dinner they went, but their mischief was shared.”
So under the stars, tales spun with such glee,
Of marshmallow bandits, wild as the sea.
