The Call of the Open Range

The wild west wasn’t tamed by sitting still—it took courage to follow the horizon.

In the dust of dawn, the prairie wakes,
With laughter bright as the trail it makes.
A weathered hat tipped, a cheeky grin,
Cowboys embrace each grit-laden spin.

The cactus blooms in stubborn defiance,
While sagebrush rustles, a sly reliance.
With saddle creaks playing a merry tune,
They dance with the dust neath the silver moon.

Old Levis tales spun round the fire’s glow,
Of broken fences and cattles rodeo.
Through rattlesnake trails and a desert’s sting,
They wrangle the woes, find joy in the swing.

When the stars flicker like mischief at night,
And coyotes call out for one last delight.
With grit and a grin, they face the vast best,
For in dusty trails lies the heart of the West.
