Chasing Dreams Across the Plains
Out here, every cowboy knows that fortune favors the bold.
In the deserts breath, where sunbeams dance,
A cowboy squints, caught in a trance.
A glimmer far, like waters song,
His parched lips grin; hes not alone for long.
With creaking boots, he takes a stride,
A shimmering lake, so grand and wide.
But as he nears, the truth unfolds,
The mirage laughs, it never holds.
His buddy shouts from yonder rise,
Look, more water! — with excited cries.
Yet there stands only prickled brush,
A hydration trick — oh, what a rush!
In this play of light, they find delight,
Chasing echoes of dreams in the blinding light.
For even in folly, the spirit sings,
In the mirage’s dance, joy forever clings.
