Whistling Through the Prairie Winds

A cowboy learns to face the winds with grit and a song in his heart.

In the dust of the town, where the sun beats hard,
Two pistoleros stand, each one on guard.
Their eyes like hawks, sharp wit their creed,
With verses as quick as their bullets in speed.

The crowd holds its breath, as the first word flies,
A witty line cut sharper than a knife.
With laughter like gunfire, the tension runs high,
For each clever jest could take a mans life.

Then echoing shots ring through the wild frontier,
Each word a bullet that prickles with fear.
The rhythm of poems like the beat of a drum,
In a duel of the mind, the clever must come.

As the sun slips away, casting shadows so wide,
Two legends emerge, with their honor and pride.
For in the heart of the West, where the stories expand,
Poetry and bullets, they go hand in hand.
