Roundup on the Frontier
Every cowboy knows the importance of gathering strength before the storm.
Beneath the vast and endless blue,
A fence post stands, worn and true.
Its weathered wood, a tale unfolds,
Of lives entwined and legends told.
Once strong and proud, it held the line,
Where cattle crossed and cowboys twined.
With whispers of the grasses swayed,
It marked the dreams of those who stayed.
Yet storms rolled in, and time did shift,
The prairie winds, a restless gift.
The post will meet its humble end,
But memories linger, lost friends tend.
As sunsets blaze the horizons seam,
The fence post fades, yet holds a dream.
Across the plains, a change will flow,
With every hoofbeat, new seeds sow.
