Holding Steady Through the Storm
Cowboys know that the hardest trails lead to the most beautiful views.
In the stillness where the wild grass sways,
A fence post stands, its stories worn,
With a rusted nail that holds the frays,
Of whispered dreams, both tattered and torn.
Once stretched along the dusty trail,
It saw the hooves of a thousand steeds,
Each sunsets glow, a timeless tale,
Of love and loss, of hopes and needs.
Beneath a sky that paints the night,
The cattle low in a distant field,
This steadfast post stood strong, upright,
A guardian where memories are sealed.
So when the winds of change do blow,
And shadows dance on the prairie vast,
Remember the fence, the rusted nails glow--
It binds our past, a tether that lasts.
