The Ballad of the Boiling Pot: Cowboys vs. the Campfire as They Wrestle With Brewing Strong, Spilled Coffee in Southwest New Mexico

The Cowboy Way of Doing Things

Do what’s right, ride tall, and keep your boots clean—it’s the cowboy way.

In Southwest lands where the shadows loom,
A campfire crackles, dispelling gloom.
With iron pots, they brew the bold,
But swirled in the winds, their strong brews told.

The cowboys gather, their spirits high,
While coffee splatters beneath the sky.
It sizzles and hisses, a bold, bitter fight,
Against the flickering flames that dance in the night.

They wrestle with mugs, filled to the brim,
Each hearty laugh finds joy in the whim.
Yet the desert air, thick with the roast,
Makes memories linger, and they raise a toast.

As stars watch over this rugged crew,
They sip from their cups, hearts brave and true.
Though coffee spilled may scorch the ground,
In each sip shared, true kinship is found.
